Description: In honor of Nevada’s Sesquicentennial the Union Pacific Railroad’s legendary Heritage Train will be making its way across Nevada this Labor Day Weekend. The display, celebrating Nevada’s railroad heritage is made possible through the generous contributions by the Union Pacific Railroad. From the construction of the original transcontinental railroad across Nevada to the construction of the Hoover Dam the Union Pacific Railroad has played a fundamentally important role in the settlement, development and prosperity of the Silver State. The Union Pacific Heritage Train will be making stops and be on display for the public to see in West Wendover, Wells, Elko, Battle Mountain, Winnemucca, Lovelock and Sparks.

Thursday, Aug. 28
11:20 – 11:50 a.m. – Visit Wendover Will. The Gov. and Lt. Gov. will be joined by elementary students who will receive a Sesquicentennial copper medallion.
12:30 p.m. (MST) – Train send-off Wendover, 400 S. 9th St.
12:40 – 1:10 p.m. (PST) – Whistle-stop in Wells, Pacific Street Crossing.
2:36 – 3 p.m. – Arrive in Elko Union Pacific train yard, Railroad Ave.
Friday, Aug. 29
1:30 – 2 p.m. – Whistle-stop in Battle Mountain, E St.
2:36 – 3 p.m. – Arrive in Winnemucca, 51 Gould St.
Saturday, Aug. 30
1:45 – 2:15 p.m. – Whistle-stop in Lovelock, 8th St. intersection.
3:30 – 4 p.m. – Arrive in Sparks at the Sparks Train Yard, 1 S. Pyramid Way.
