Description: The Lake Mansion built in 1877 (136 years old) and listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places is the site for all ages to celebrate the holidays with art and history.  The Lake Mansion was built in 1877 and is one of the only residences open year-round for the public to see, hear, touch and experience life during that time period of Nevada’s history.  Eight children’s hands-on art workshops, face painting, visits with Santa (bring your camera) tours of the mansion, arts, and crafts throughout the day.  Nevada Sesquicentennial Commissioner and author Patty Cafferata will be signing and selling her historic building books including “The Lake Mansion:  Home to Reno’s Founding Families.”
