Description: Indigo is the color of human experience and represents harmony, faithfulness, and infinity. In jazz, we often “sing the blues” because of the darker mood created with blue notes. On Saturday, October 4th, The Desert Winds presents these hues of humanity as soloist, Leanne Stamp, performs the U.S. premiere of Peter Meechan’s euphonium concerto, “Origins”. As an official event of the Nevada 150th Year Sesquicentennial celebration, this concert will also feature both guest conductor, Dick McGee, and a performance of Eric Whitacre’s “October”. It will be an evening that stirs the imagination and soul with infinite musical possibilities. This is COLORATIONS: INDIGO! For additional information please visit www.thedesertwinds.org.
