Description: Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage and Nevada’s 150th Anniversary of Statehood at the Nevada Women’s History Project’s Annual Pink Tea. The Nevada Women’s History Project invites you to attend the 16th Annual Pink Tea Saturday, May 10, 2014 -2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City. When Nevada women were campaigning for suffrage in 1911-1914, they would meet to discuss possible actions, events and other aspects of the suffrage campaign. To discourage men from attending the gathering, it was called a “Pink Tea” and they would bring handcrafts to be working on, such as quilts, knitting and others. Period Dress Welcome. Cost is $45 admission per person, which includes twenty dollars donation.
