Description: Panaca was founded in 1864 by Francis Lee and his wife Jane Vail Johnson. That was in May. Five months later Nevada was made a state. Panaca traditionally hosts a Pioneer Day Celebration in mid July. But this one will be bigger celebrating the Sesquicentennial of both the Town of Panaca and the State of Nevada! Planned event include; a rodeo, parade, dance, hot air balloons, an original theatrical production, crafts and skills.
