Time: 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Location: Virginia City, NV (Storey)
Description: A special Nevada’s 150th birthday celebration and fundraiser for Comstock Preservation District. Take the Virginia & Truckee Railroad from Virginia City down to Gold Hill where renowned artist Steven Saylor’s rendition of the day it all started is unveiled at the newly renovated Gold Hill Depot. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Then catch the train back to Virginia City for the parade, shopping and Virginia City atmosphere before heading to Piper’s Opera House for a meet and greet with dignitaries before the ball. Riches from Virginia City played a major role in Nevada’s statehood, so what better place to celebrate the sesquicentennial than where it all began?
