Description: Nevada’s film history is rich–and “The Misfits” (1961-starring Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe) is one of the most famous–filmed in and around Reno.  Artown’s Movies in the Park is teaming with the Wild River Grille for “Martinis and Misfits: Food and Film in 60s Nevada.”  Starting at 6 pm, The Grille (17 S Virginia in downtown Reno) will be serving food and drink specials from the early 60s (think Veal Marsala, Trout Almondine, Mint Juleps, Dirty Martinis, etc) in addition to their regular menu. Dine in the shadow of Reno’s Riverside Hotel—one of Reno’s historic buildings featured in the movie. At 7 pm, popular jazz singer Erika Paul will feature songs from the era, including several made famous by Marilyn Monroe.
