Description: Join us in celebrating Beatty Nevada’s 110th birthday and Nevada’s Sesquicentennial at the Beatty Days. Presented by the Beatty Chamber of Commerce the last Friday of every October, this event is a fun filled weekend that holds entertainment for both young and old. This year’s event includes the annual International Chili Society Sanctioned regional cook-off, whose winner automatically advances to the World Championship Cook off where they have the chance to win 25,000! Also on Saturday, we will be holding the Antique Car Show, which draws nearly 75 vintage cars, many of which are decorated for the season and carry bags of candy for the Trick or Treating crowd! The Event begins Friday night with the crowning of Miss & Junior Miss Beatty, costume contest, a carved pumpkin contest and live music. Also, Friday the Tricycle Races return with their oversized AND BACKWARDS Trikes! Saturday also brings the Annual Parade, the 5K Run and 2K Walk, and Bed Races, the Halloween Costume Contest, trick or treating in the park, and a poker walk. Other fun events returning are the Hot dog eating contest, Mom’s-rule-breaking-and-near-deafening Root Beer Belching contest, the mind-numbingly-HOT Hot Wing eating contest, and the PUCKER POWERERFUL Pickle-Liquor Hoot-n Holler. You will want to be sure to visit the antique engine display on the North side of the park and the Model Railroad Exhibition at the Community center. Sunday brings the delicious Dutch Oven contest and new last year a Kite Flying Contest in the Upper Park. For additional information please visit www.beattynevada.org or call 775-553-2424.
