Description: Nevada Day is a grand celebration commemorating our admission to statehood in 1864. Nevadan’s have the distinction of holding the largest statehood celebration in the nation! The highlight is the Nevada Day Parade, which is held on the last Saturday of October. More than just a parade, Nevada Day special events take place all weekend, beginning Thursday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Oct. 27. Each year the parade starts a 10:00am and meanders its way down Carson Street, concluding (most years) at approximately 1:00pm. The parade kicks off with an 8:00am hot air balloon launch on Carson Street (weather permitting), followed closely with a 10:00am flyover of military craft from the Fallon Naval Air Station and the Nevada Air Guard. The parade features floats, marching bands, and a variety of entertainment. The parade route begins at the intersection of William and Carson streets and ends at the intersection of Stewart and Carson streets.
