Nevada 150 new site launched!

The Nevada 150 website recently launched in preparation for its 150th anniversary. Nevada is celebrating its admission into the Union as only Nevada could: by promoting the independent spirit of state through education, tourism and history. Check out the commemorate Sesquicentennial website which was designed educates folks about the celebration and allows people to get involved. The Sesquicentennial celebration will  commence on Nevada Day 2013 and will conclude with an expanded Nevada Day celebration on October 31, 2014.

Sandoval Announces Availability of 150th License Plates at DMV

Governor Brian Sandoval announced that the 150th anniversary license plates will be available at metropolitan DMV offices beginning July 29th. The plates will be available at rural offices beginning July 31st. Sandoval also announced that beginning July 9th, DMV offices will begin accepting orders for personalized 150th license plates. In June the Nevada Legislature approved and Governor Sandoval signed into law AB 24, which authorizes a specialty license plate in recognition of the 150th anniversary of Nevada’s admission into the Union.
